it’s a very good place to start
so much on my plate that i want to do
instead of hemming and hawing
i just need to DO

so here it is the new year
new hope, new chance to begin again
i love the new year and the opportunity it gives me
to practise tabula rasa
and start fresh with a new wisdom

constantly switching and flipping and changing
that’s what life is about
hello – goodbye – hello
new beginnings take energy
once i am into it i forget how much i have given
when i pause for whatever reason i find a space
in my heart where i am elatedly tired
and needing rest to sort things out
rejuvenating
once agin i am in the place of finding new work
new ways to make money
after so many years of hard work
i am ready to be rich
bring it on
i see life going by
things being done that are considered new
that i did when i was 4-5-6 years old
not that people can’t enjoy life
i just am struck by the fact that their process
or inspiration didn’t come from my website (current media)
like i saw this on WWKD or whatever
i have been doing crafts and making things for nothing
forever
am i resentful? no. just annoyed with myself for getting distracted
over and over and over again
music, quilts, sewing, relationships, writing, knitting, photography
movies, books, art, cooking, just reading recipes probably occupied
a good solid two or three years of my life if i added up the hours

a short interlude of a memory of James unedited

I woke up this morning and started laughing
after pondering a morning walk and due to my knee hurting from
a fall I took last week I thought
“Hey! I can use my walking stick!”
I purchased a walking stick probably 20 or more years ago when
we moved to Vermont. I loved mine so much I never used it
my mind wandered to the stick next to my walking stick
which even though I don’t have the car I used it for anymore
I couldn’t part with it.

I am glad now that I didn’t, move after move I would assess my *stuff*
and those two sticks were always keepers.
So the story is…which I am sure you are dying to hear…tee hee
When I first met James I was driving my fave green Volvo station wagon.
One day the *hatch back* lock went kaputt so I figured out various
ways of keeping it open when I would take groceries out etc.
One day James noticed me struggling with the bags and the door
and took it upon himself to devise a mend.
I didn’t take much notice as with three young children
there was less time for stuff like that.

Anyway I can’t remember if it was my birthday or a “just because” day
James presented me with a stick with ribbons all over it
I took one look at it and thought “what the f**k is it?” but didn’t say anything
No words just looked into each other’s eyes and knew
I walked directly to my car and said okay how does it work?
It was the most thoughtful and exciting gift I ever received
Of course this stick got used often and was most appreciated every day!
The writing on the stick is very faint…I need to go look at it later to see
what remains..the ribbons of course are gone.

i am have grumpy the past million years
not liking lately how my life is going
praying for connection to my north star
when in pops this dark lord a joker tasteless one
at that with just enough innocence to give me hope
that there is a promise in this person
i realized today that this person is my AHA! and i need to
find the place of gratitude
so i say to my friend “this is my vessel?”"
we laugh a hearty laugh as i wonder if
she really gets it
somehow i am reaching new energies
in finding a friend who loves to play with
all these programs even more than i do
even seem to get paid for it – imagine!

this moment as i write my first post in many moons
i do believe
i do imagine
i see my north star

each day actually each moment i feel as though i am seeing life for the first time
i don’t like the way this types out so i have been uninspired to post
and unfortunately i haven’t made time to figure it outi like to work with people with i have questions
i poked around the site in hopes to find answers and i end up
with questions instead
alas last night i started a visual journal even though i have been writing or journaling most of my life i am just starting to do some things that inspire me more than words, though i will always treasure the madding images is a challenge for mei really enjoyed the process of cutting out a bunch of words and images from magazines trying very hard not to get into reading interesting articles…too often anyway.i had a blast and the result was quite a good start. i plan to add more and will show an image once i figure that out with ease.here’s to life! 

once again sharon b of in a minute ago shifts my mental energy in a good way of course to with her take it further  challenge for february! it’s like learning a new word…which of course i LOVE.bookmark grapefruit when i figure out how to do it i will post an imagei am curious now about how many segments there are in a grapefruit. so far i have counted 10-11- and 12  go figure yes this may be a silly post but if I don’t write it out, I don’t write it out I breathe inI breathe out~Kate
